Have you ever felt like your prayers are falling on deaf ears, and you're on the brink of losing hope?
In Luke 8:40-56, Jairus seeks Jesus's help for his sick daughter. While on their way, Jesus heals the Woman with the Issue of Blood (V. 43-48), causing a delay in reaching Jairus's daughter. He watches everything with a heart heavy with dread as he realizes his daughter's life hangs in the balance; someone comes with the most unbearable news, "your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the Teacher now". How do you think you respond to it?
At this moment, Jairus could have given up. He was seeking healing for his daughter, but it was now too late; she was gone. However, Jesus encourages him, saying, "Do not be afraid; only believe." Jairus's faith in Jesus was not in vain, for Jesus had more in mind than just healing. He had a resurrection planned. Jairus's daughter was not only healed but also raised to life again. Even if I try, I can not count how many times I expected God to answer a prayer a certain way, and he went above and beyond any imagination I had.
Are you waiting and wondering if God is going to answer your prayers? You might feel like your prayers are going unanswered, and you're losing hope. However, just like with Jairus, God's plans and timing may be different from our own, but they are always for our good and His glory.
Jesus could have spoken the word and healed Jairus's daughter, but He wanted to do something greater. God is making you wait because He has something greater in store for you! Keep persevering and pushing, and God will blow your mind by doing exceedingly, abundantly above all you could ever ask or think!
Sometimes, God's delays are not denials but rather opportunities for something more significant and miraculous than we could have ever imagined. Let us continue to trust in Him, even when we can't see the full picture, knowing that He is always working things out for our good.
